AI Readiness Assessment

A structured evaluation of how effectively your team uses AI across six dimensions of fluency — delivered in 2–3 weeks as a standalone engagement. Know exactly where you stand and what to fix first.

What it is

The AI Readiness Assessment measures how effectively your team uses AI across six dimensions of fluency — from how well individuals recognize AI-suitable tasks, to whether your organization has the governance and systematization to operate AI reliably at scale.

The result is a scored profile: a specific maturity level (1–5) across six dimensions, with the one dimension that is the primary barrier to reaching the next level clearly identified. Not a vague average. A specific diagnosis.

Typical engagement: 2–3 weeks, one team, covering six workflow dimensions and 3–5 stakeholder interviews.

What you get

The AI Readiness & Opportunity Map — a structured report covering:

  • Your maturity level across six dimensions: Task Recognition, Context & Prompting, Workflow Design, Judgment & Verification, Delivery & Integration, and Governance & Systematization
  • The specific dimension holding your team at its current level (the “binding constraint”)
  • A concrete next step targeting that constraint — not a generic roadmap
  • A track recommendation: whether your team needs foundational support (Track A), targeted improvement work (Track B), or is ready to explore AI agent implementation (Track C)

Who this is for

Teams at Level 3 or Level 4 on the AI fluency spectrum, those teams who have AI in use but are getting inconsistent results. If your team uses AI tools regularly but output quality varies unpredictably, or AI-assisted work does not yet integrate cleanly into your delivery process, this assessment identifies what is holding you back.

It is also appropriate for teams at Levels 1–2 who want to understand where they actually stand before committing to a larger AI initiative.

What comes next

The assessment is a standalone engagement. No ongoing commitment is required. At the end, you will have a clear picture of where your team stands and what the highest-leverage next move is.

If that next move points to targeted improvement work, the assessment feeds directly into a Design engagement. If it points to foundational support, it includes a recommendation for that path. The assessment tells you which is which.

Not for every situation

The AI Readiness Assessment is not the right starting point if:

  • You have not yet experimented with AI tools in actual work (not even occasionally). In those situations, a different conversation makes more sense
  • You need a technical AI infrastructure audit rather than a team fluency assessment
  • You are looking for a multi-team or enterprise-wide benchmarking program

Methodology

The assessment uses the Adaptive Alchemy AI Fluency Index, a five-level maturity model with six dimensions calibrated specifically for growth-stage teams. The scoring model uses strict dimension gates rather than averages: your level is the highest level where every dimension meets its threshold. One dimension below threshold holds your level and identifies exactly what to work on first.

The AI Fluency Index has been calibrated against numerous client engagements across growth-stage companies.
